Man oh man! What a crazy game we played! Assault is basically a game of try to get from base to a goal and back without getting tagged. It seems easy, until you factor in the 40-50 adults who are doing the tagging. There was a lot of running, a lot of scoring, and even a bit of falling down. We survived the night with no serious injuries and the hope of playing again next year. The best part is, if we ever decide to make a movie about the game, we already have the movie poster. Check out the picture of the group of students walking up at the end of the game.

The pictures are up! We had a great time worshiping God through music and studying His word last night. Patrick led us through a discussion and searching of the Word on the topic of authority. We found that the best possible place to be is under the umbrella of God’s authority. This discussion obviously feeds into areas of parental authority, school and coaches, as well as employers and ultimately to God Himself as the Authority over all. While the message wasn’t a "feel-good" kind of talk, God’s Spirit is working the truth of what was spoken into our hearts.

Pictures from Wednesday morning through Rec time have been posted in their respective areas. Please continue to post notes to your friends and family, we pass them on. And just so their’s no confusion, NO! we didn’t get robbed today during celebration. The pantyhose over the head were just a banana eating contest, and YES! it really is hard and disgusting!

No commentsThe Rest of Tuesday
Sorry it took a little longer than anticipated to upload the photos from Tuesday afternoon and evening. We had a network connection issue up here, but all is resolved. Please take some time to look through the pictures so you can get somewhat of an idea of what we are doing up here. We played an amazing game of four-way kickball that can’t really be described, followed by some great team competition and of course, paintball. Our night worship service started with beautiful songs of worship led by Jeremy and Kathy Allen and a challenge to trust God for our identity from Patrick. When we dismissed to family groups we were challenged to ask three questions: 1. What is it about myself that I want to change or be changed? 2. Am I battling any of these attitudes: Critical spirit, sarcasm, bitterness, or self-infatuation? 3. Am I cultivating an heart of thankfulness to God? By the time our family groups had walked through those questions, we decided to skip our late-night activity and just unwind at the snack shack.

We had quite a bit of fun this morning…human ice cream sundaes, and my personal favorite: Iron Man. Here’s how it works…Take a bottle of Big Red (who drinks that stuff anyway?!?) and add disgusting items one at a time. Each time we add an item, one contestant takes a large drink of the concoction. This process is repeated until someone "backs out". Amazingly, our three contestants stood strong, but the Red Team and the Blue Team shared the title "IRON MAN." Lest you think Warrior Week is all about gross games and silliness, the guys and ladies had a great time studying God’s word in their seminars with Amber and Micah. Enjoy the photos!

God has begun what will be an amazing week in a way we couldn’t have planned. We had a fairly nice thunder and rain storm right as we began worshiping God through music. The thunder crashed, and the rain pounded the metal roof as Jeremy and Kathy Allen led us to focus on God and His greatness. In case you are unaware, Scott Hall was scheduled to teach during the night worship services this week, but had to back out at the last minute due to illness. It turns out we had a pretty good back-up in Patrick Payton. He invited the students to a new experience in teaching by having the group form a circle around him while he taught. Patrick invited the students to interrupt him during the teaching time to ask questions. There are three questions that will be asked each night during the teaching time: 1. Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? 2. Have you rejected Jesus? 3. Do you give a rip? Please join us in praying that students and adults alike would be brought to a place of honestly answering these questions. Also, check out the photo pages for a few shots of the night.
