Shine Your Light

This Fall, we get to join together in Shine 2025, a movement of loving God and loving people right where He has placed us and to the ends of the earth.  During this season, we’ll step into three simple but powerful ways to live out our faith: Love Your Circle, Serve the City, and Change the World. Each expression of Shine gives us a chance to reflect the light of Jesus in the everyday spaces of our lives, in our community, and far beyond.

For 8 weeks, starting Monday, October 13th, you’ll receive a short listening devotional every Monday. These will guide you in Scripture, help you quiet your heart, and create space to listen for how God is leading you to love your circle. To access these, text shine25 to 97000.

To help you step into this rhythm, we’re providing a Love Your Circle Kit, available for pickup on Sunday, October 12th. Inside, you’ll find a candle to light each week as you listen and pray as reminder of Jesus’ light shining in and through us as we love our families, friends, and neighbors.

Through Shine, you have the opportunity to be part of this incredible work, helping ensure that the Sertanejo people have access to the scriptures in the language they understand best. Operation Christmas Child

By filling ordinary shoe-boxes with toys and other fun items, you can be part of giving boys and girls what may be their very first gift ever! Each box filled with items such as a soccer ball, doll, or stuffed animal, becomes a tangible expression of God’s love to the child, their family, and their community.

Over the past two years, our church family has packed more than 1,300 boxes! This year, our goal is to pack 1,000 more. Our SGKids & SGY Teams also have some incredible things planned for our kiddos and students to shine! Here’s a preview of what they have coming up:

Rise & Shine with SGKids | Saturday, November 15th

Grab your family* and come serve together at Mission Agape, where we’ll pack food bags for food-insecure kids in Midland. When you serve, you shine the love of Jesus right here in our city! Click here for registration and more details. *Best suited for kiddos ages 3 and up.

Change the World | October 19th - December 7th

Kids, you can bring change (coins, dollars, anything you raise!) to help people around the world get the Bible in their own language! Our downstairs area will drop change in the Tithing Twister and watch it swirl down, while each grade upstairs will race to see who can bring the most change in their pod! 

Shine with SGY Tournament | Sunday, November 16th

Shine with SGY Tournament Sunday, Nov. 16th   We’ll have different sports Tournaments for both High School and Middle School students to sign up for, with all proceeds going towards Bible Translation!
